VALRICO, Fla. -- Hillsborough County detectives need your help identifying three men suspected of an attempted home invasion in Valrico last month.

A tool that's helping them in this investigation - the homeowner's surveillance system, which recorded the men carrying what appears to be zip ties, along with possibly concealing a gun.

And detectives hope what was caught on camera will help catch their suspects.

According to detectives, the homeowner was home with her 1-year-old daughter when there was a knock at the door. Rodriguez told detectives she didn't recognize the people at the door. One of the men told the woman that he needed to talk to her, but she refused to open the door.

"The homeowner did the right thing. Never open the door. A lot of people would become very complacent in their own environment," Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter says. "Someone knocks on the door, people walk up to the door and open it. Always look out first. If you don't know those individuals, you've never seen them, if they're suspicious individuals, get on the phone. Don't hesitate to call law enforcement and report it."
