BRANDON, Florida -- Sheriff's investigators have identified the human remains that were found sealed inside a trash can behind a home in Brandon.
Hillsborough deputies were able to identify the body of 33-year-old Benna Rogers using fingerprints. The Medical Examiner's Office is still working to determine a time and cause of death.
Rogers' remains were discovered in the home belonging to his brother, who committed suicide last week on Valentine's Day.
Deputies say they found 31-year-old "Bucky" Rogers dead inside the house on Larry Circle South February 14 after he apparently wheeled a motor scooter into his room and started breathing in the fumes.
After the latest discovery, deputies say family members told them Bucky's brother hadn't been seen for months. The sheriff's office says they were previously never notified he was missing.
Neighborhood residents say both brothers were known for their troubles with the law. Sheriff's office records show arrests on drug charges, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property.
A day before his suicide, Bucky Rogers posted on his Facebook page he was ready to leave Florida behind.
"He said, 'I know I was a lot of problems and I had my troubles' but he said, 'I'm going to move away and things are changing,'" said a neighbor who only wanted to be identified as Barbara.
