Thieves steal $10,000 in cigarettes

Valrico, Florida -- Police are searching for two men who robbed a Shell gas station of $10,000 worth of cigarettes.

According to the sheriff's office, on May 1, around 3:30 a.m., the men arrived in a sedan and parked outside the store at 2819 State Road 60.

Man charged with murdering father in Valrico home

Valrico, Florida -- Detectives have arrested the son of a man found dead in his Valrico home on March 27 for murder.

Detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office say, between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., Shedrick Partin, 23, hit his father in the head multiple times with a hammer and a white door stop while he was lying in his bed.

Man robs Walmart at gunpoint

Seffner, Florida -- Police are looking for the man who robbed a Seffner Walmart at gunpoint on the night of May 11.

According to detectives, the man walked into the store at 11720 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and approached the cashier.

While armed with a semi-automatic handgun he got away with an undisclosed amount of money in a plastic bag he brought in with him. 

Tampa area school may lose state football title

SEFFNER, Florida (AP) - An investigation has found that five football players from state champion Armwood High School in the Tampa area lied about where they lived to get into the school.

Unless the school can prove otherwise, that means the Class 6A champion Hawks will likely have their 2011 title stripped. The school has 10 business days to respond.
